What The Heck is a Vector Logo?
Vectors are graphics made from points, lines, and curves—not pixels. This means they can scale up to the size of a billboard or shrink down to a business card without losing quality.
Common Vector File Types:
.AI – Adobe Illustrator (ideal!)
.EPS – Encapsulated PostScript (industry standard)
.PDF – Only if saved as vector
.SVG – Scalable Vector Graphics (common in Canva)
Not Vector (Raster) File Types:
.JPG / .JPEG
.PNG
.GIF
.TIFF
Why We Need Vectors:
To cut vinyl cleanly for signs or decals
To print your logo on banners, shirts, or large formats without fuzziness
To edit colors and shapes for different uses
To keep your brand looking sharp everywhere
